HARUM MANIS
A species of exotic Perlis mango that fits the name. It is very aromatic and superb in taste. The Harum Manis sweetly melts in your mouth when served as dessert or eaten raw. But it is always preferred with glutinous rice.

Varieties of cuisine and sea food are available in Perlis. It is marvelous to taste the traditional Malay, Indian, Chinese and Thai Food. The delicious Laksa Kuala Perlis and Nasi Ulam are worth tasting. Grilled fish, sea food, chicken or mango glutinous rice are also mouth watering.
 
 

 
BORDER ATTRACTION

The border between Perlis and Thailand gives a shopping attraction. Wang Kelian offers agricultural products, foodstuffs, kitchen utensils, plastic products and handicrafts. Padang Besar offers clothes and groceries at a low price. In the Emas Kerajang Complex, there are local and imported goods.

SNAKE & REPTILE PARK

Taman Ular is the one and only snake and reptile park in Malaysia. It is located at Sungai Batu Pahat, a recreational area surrounded by limestone hills. It has been Perlis main attraction for decades. Visitors could witness cobras, pythons, vipers and other unique reptiles. Exhibition and snake handling competition are held annually.
 
 

 

FOREST ADVENTURE


Forest reserves with exiting flora and fauna, hills and caves are irresistible to the nature lovers. In the caves, visitors could see formations of stalactites, stalagmites, pinnacles and chambers. There are also many rare species birds and primates living in the forest. Jungle tracking and rock climbing are exciting and challenging for forest adventure.

BIRDS WATCHING

Birds from Central Asia make their first stop in Perlis during winter migration. Timah Tasoh, a man-made lake is packed with these birds between April and August. You can spend hours watching hundreds of bird species. There are herons, egrets and local cranes. Timah Tasoh is now recognized as one of the bird sanctuaries in Malaysia.
